What is Renewable Energy?
This article gives out a little information as to what renewable energy actually is. This subject seems to constantly gain popularity.
The wind and the rain are two good examples of renewable energy, also sunlight, geothermal heat and even the ocean tides are considered renewable energy sources. A source of energy is considered renewable when it naturally replenishes itself.
Wind Power
The wind is a great renewable energy source. From tiny windmills in homeowners backyards to large windmill farms across the world people are learning to harness the power of the wind. The wind cost us nothing…we just have to catch it.
Solar Energy
Now solar energy is my favorite of the renewable energy sources. Building solar panels has been a hobby of mine for a couple of years now so naturally this energy source is high atop my list. Solar panels once installed have very little or in most cases no maintenance or up-keep.
A solar system can be set up to be integrated in with your current power source to help lower your electric bill or you may choose to put enough panels on your house in order to completely get off the grid altogether.
Hydro Power
The power of flowing water is often underestimated by us humans. How many times have you watched cars on the evening news being washed away in a flash flood only inches deep?
Water is 800 times more dense than air so even a slow flowing stream or river can produce a tremendous amount of energy. Once again nature has provided us with a renewable source of energy.
Humans worldwide are starting to rely more and more of these sustainable energy sources. Once put in place they eventually pay for themselves, they don’t pollute the environment and the require very little manpower to keep running.
