Another Car for the Environment
A new powered cell car study model that Honda has unveiled.
Yep, its true Honda has unveiled its Sport design car for the future and can you believe it their car has zero emissions. Right now this is only a design study model but Honda is determined to make it a reality. It is a hydrogen powered car with three seats which is a little different but shows how good the potential and flexibility of Honda’s technology which you can see in their FCX Clarity. These cars give us a view of the future and it’s looking good!
This car shows how cars can be reinvented from the bulky cars of today to the fuel cell power train that is brought in by Honda. You won’t find any bulky parts to this car like an internal combustion engine or gear box. The concept of this car is light weight, fuel cell with zero emissions. Doesn’t that sound like the perfect combination? This supercar performance comes from a powerful electric motor and ultra low gravity. This was an inspiration for those that love sports cars. Honda has explored how to satisfy sports enthusiasts that goes beyond gas and diesel engines. They have met that exploration with this car.
The way that this car is designed it can accommodate a custom formed high fuel cell stack which you will find between the rear seats, the battery pack is found low in the middle of the vehicle. The electric motor is located forward of the rear axle. There are two storage tanks that are visible from above are also located in the rear axle. The location of the fuel cell component s allows for enhanced performance and also for a very large cabin. This cabin has enough room for three people comfortably.
They were really thinking of the environment when they built this one with the green construction techniques that were used contribute to a reduced carbon footprint. Honda didn’t stop there, oh no. they also included an organic bio-structure theme in the body construction, by using plant derived bio-plastics.
Right now this is just a study model and there are no immediate plans to start production. There are no plans to replace the FCX Clarity which is fuel celled and on sale in the US. They have not stopped exploring what could happen in the future and this is how we get cleaner air with much ingenuity and one step at a time. Every invention that brings us closer to elimination car emissions is a positive not only for us but more importantly for the environment.
