The Going Green Movement

The concept of going green aims at making people aware of the impact we have on the environment with our daily activities. When going green we learn to take care of what we are doing and how are we affecting the environment. Green campaigns are dedicated to teach people what should be done so that we do not harm the nature.

So after we defined the term “going green” it is time to look at what the methods of doing so are. First, for cleaning Melbourne clearly shows the way to the future – natural cleaning products. Chemical- free materials should be used not only in cleaning but wherever possible. Recycling is a must too as one tree is thought to generate oxygen for three people to breathe. However, the most significant going green method is, in my opinion – the alternative power sources. Still the humanity is over-dependent on fossil fuels. This non-renewable source of energy is polluting the environment not only with the process of gathering the fuels itself but with burning the product afterwards. Thus the negatives are way too many. Alternative power sources such as wind and solar energy should be highly valued and money should certainly be invested in researches.

But let us look at the history of environmentalism. It was found many years ago. However, people started to become ecology conscious in recent times. There is certainly a reason beyond that as the consequences from our activities are starting to be felt. Drastic weather changes show us that everything will be turning on our back.

There are common misconception that are worth having a word about. Going green does not necessarily involves drastic changes to your lifestyle. Seemingly simple and small decisions can have a huge effect on the environment. If all the cleaners in Melbourne, even a single one, uses green cleaning products than this is well a significant contribution.

Only after we notice we’re about to lose something precious, we give a thought how to stop it. Post prevention is not an option.
