FBI catch a suspected terrorist near the Capitol Building.

A suspected terrorist was arrested near the Capitol Building (U.S. House) on Friday, as part of anti-terrorism investigation, the FBI said in a statement.

The suspects were caught red-handed carrying explosives which then successfully deactivated by the officers, the FBI said. “The explosives that brought the suspect who allegedly will be used to plan the bombing had been defused by security forces and not harmful to public safety,” the statement said.

The FBI said the arrests were the culmination of an undercover law enforcement operations which previously had been monitoring the suspects.

The suspect is a man of Moroccan origin, was originally planning a suicide attack on the Capitol building with explosives he had received from the undercover officer, which he thought was a member of Al Qaeda. The suspect is not associated with terrorist organizations and act for themselves, the report said, citing sources of federal law enforcement authorities.
