Space Probes

A space probe is any unmanned instrumented spacecraft designed to carry out physical studies of space environment.

Space probes are instruments that are sent into space on long term basis for exploring and studying space. They send back information that help scientists know more about space. Probes help us in exploring the worlds beyond human reach.

There is hardly and chance for the space probes to return back to the Earth.

They remain in space studying the heavenly bodies and sending back photographs to Earth. Then they drift into space.

In February 1966, Luna 9 became the first probe to make a successful soft landing on the lunar surface. All the earlier probes of a series of Soviet Luna probes had crash landed on the Moon.

Galileo probe increased our knowledge about our neighboring planets.

The space probe Ulysses investigated the Sun in 1994 and 1995.
