Solar Powered Car

Worlds first ever solar powered car!

meet the new Solar powered car by Affinity. Currently there is only one road legal solar powered car, and that’s in the UK, and costs a healthy £50,000 .

The actual car is covered with 9 metres squared of solar panels which generate power which are stored in batteries. The car travels at 30 mph and went from one side of England to the other on the same power it takes to power a hairdryer. A whopping 2 horsepower!  Every part of the car has been refined and tested to maximise its efficiency, so much so that it uses 50 times less power than a standard petrol car. The Affinity is a brand new piece of engineering in every way. The looks are futuristic and alien like as you can see in the below picture, but in fact the shaping of the car is not a style icon, no, in fact its another part of the engineering perfection. The body has been shaped in the most streamlined way possible. However you look at the car, the Affinity solar car is engineering perfection and a big step forward in eco-friendly cars.

The Affinity in action!
