Satellite Falls to Earth– Where?

NASA’s rather negligent attitude.

A satellite, weighing over six tons is going to crash on Earth?
When?

Sometime next week.

Where?

Likely in the Ocean.

Excuse me?

This is a Six Ton Satellite which is entering the atmoshere.  Not all of it will burn up.  In fact, a chunk about 300lbs is supposd to hold together.  It is was orbiting the Earth at some particular coordinates, it is entering the atmosphere at some some point, and no one can calculate where?

I am dysnumerate.  I admit that.  I can’t do the math.  But I know people who can.  In fact, I know computers that can.  So how is it these geniuses at NASA can’t?

Various ‘officials’ describe the visibility of the fragments, as if everyone spends their time staring at the sky, never leaving the great outdoors to use to toilet.

Now how much time is anyone going to have to get out of the way?  And since none of us are trained satellite dodgers like where do we run? And how fast can we run?

“We won’t know until it hits” says a NASA scientist.

I don’t find this very reassuring.

They don\’t know for sure. They wont until 2 hours before it hits. But 3/4 of where it\’s estimated to land, is in water. So you shouldn\’t be too worried about it. The US has sent a missel towards it so that if in fact it doesn\’t all burn up on its way in the atmosphere, most of it will.

I live on one of those islands in the water. And one piece is not expected to burn up. What if I’m sleeping during those 2 hours?

    I am still not reassured.
