The prototype will have eleven carriages with a small nuclear-powered locomotives, and will serve as a mobile nuclear power plant.
The experimental prototype will have eleven carriages that will be drawn by a small nuclear-powered locomotive. In the initial part of the development, the train will serve only as a scientific experiment.
Job will be done by Russian Railways and Rosatom, the Russian state company for Atomic Energy.
Currently, the cost of development of such transport is unknown.
Advantage of the nuclear train is that with a few modifications it can be used as a mobile nuclear power plants and supply the remote settlements and industrial plants.

Russia is currently working on the first floating nuclear power plant. The barge, which carries the reactor was launched in June last year in St. Petersburg, to the remote Russian Arctic region Čukotke.
