Nanotechnology and Our Future

Nanotechnology is at its infancy stage and promises great change in our lives in the near future. Lot of researches and findings are happening on this front that can change our everyday life and medical treatment.

Nanotechnology for a common man does not mean anything now. But it holds the future and could bring a breakthrough in all areas of life including health care. During the recent years lot of research has been made on based on this technology that reveals many crucial areas where the benefits of this technology can have a good impact including the way doctors treat diseases. This technology is going to rule the world for sometime with its amazing power of being small yet powerful. Imagine nano robots infused into the body doing repairs of damaged cancer cells which frees the patient from undergoing painful chemo therapy or suffer from the side effects of powerful medicines. It will be the most effective way of treating a disease targeting the cancer cells and with fewer side effects than the normal medication.

It has also got a very important role to play in manufacturing sector. Implementation of this technology in manufacturing process allows you to get hold the basic fundamental blocks that makes complicated and process oriented difficult tasks more simpler and that too by using less resources than it is done with the traditional manufacturing process. It creates a new manufacturing environment where things get shaped up faster and the size of different products can be reduced to a large extend.

Like any good technology there is a bad side also if it is not dealt carefully. Nano particles created during the process can be hazardous for our health. As nano robots are designed for the controlled reproduction a single mistake in its programming could lead them to a state of uncontrolled reproduction which could damage earth’s environment severely. They will cover like a blanket over our earth making life impossible and the end of human race. Utmost care in handling this technology is required to make it useful for men.

it does sound like a powerful thing, as with most things the bad might outweigh the good.

I didn’t know the technology could harm the environment in that way.

Now I have mixed feelings on the subject but if they safeguard against this it could become an amazing technology.
