Japan’s Nuclear Plant is Acting Up Again
Last year in March 2011was Japan’s Nuclear Plant “melt down” due to the nine magnitude earthquake, and the Tsunami that hit Japan afterwards.
It looks like Japan is having some more trouble with another Nuclear plant. In the Tokyo Nuclear Plant they are having trouble keeping one of the reactors cool enough for safe operation. The temperature of the reactor keeps going into the ‘danger zone’ to where tons of water has to be pumped in to cool it down and prevent a ‘melt down’. If the reactor isn’t kept at about 35C or a 95 degree temperature, it could easily leak radiation, and cause another Nuclear disaster like last year. Japan says they are increasing the water flow to try and get the reactor’s temperature down, right now it’s going in the high 60C to the low 70’sC or 140- 160 degrees.
Apparently at the end of January 2012 there was a hard freeze in Japan, and the freeze damaged some of the pipes inside the Tokyo Nuclear Plant, that they started leaking. And now it is the second week of February 2012 and they say they have fixed the problem by tightening some bolts. However they failed to mention that earlier in the week a pipe had “detached” and had leaked nearly over 8 tons of radioactive water. When they first inspected it they told officials it was merely a few gallons.
What is Japan up to, they know the 9.0 earthquake last year damaged the structure of the plant, and the force of the quake has loosened alot more fixtures, and create more leaks. However, Japan says they don’t believe any of the nuclear waters have gone into the ocean, they believe the ‘pits’ inside the reactor are holding the contaminated water securely. Right now the plant is being inspected daily to make sure everything is running properly and that the reactor isn’t over heating. My concern is, if the plant does run smoother for the next week or two, are they going to slack off the major inspections and think things are fine? After all Japan is still having earthquakes from 4.0’s to 5.1′ almost every week. And how much of the real truth is Japan telling the officials, and how much are the officials keeping from the public, so it doesn’t create a panic.
Just an F.Y.I Over 100,000 people have voluntarily vacated their homes around the plant, in fear of exposure. You be the judge, I personally think there’s alot more. that they’r not telling.
