Humanoid Robots: Take a Look at The Ones Who Will Serve You

You saw them in movies. You read about them in novels. They used to be just fictional, but now no more. Who are we talking about? The humanoid robots! Yes, they are here to work for you as your servants!

There was a time when many novels and sci-fi movies fictionally showed a modern century in which robots helped humans. This is almost blossoming into a reality.  Actually, many different companies and universities are trying to use advanced technology to come up with humanoid robots which would be beneficial to humans in the future! Come, meet them over here:

Asimo

Yes, currently, Honda is busy making hybrid cars, but check out its Asimo, a humanoid robot whose development began in the 80s. Now it has come to a reasonable shape, but is still going through improvement. Why Honda, the maker of cars is doing it? Because it wants to make sure that senior citizens of today and future have someone at home to complete their household tasks. Yes, Asimo is a servant robot! Currently, it can walk, run, remember names, extract online news reports and weather forecast, and do some tiny tasks like serving tea and coffee. You can actually buy it for your grandma. But how much do you have to pay for it? Only $1million!

R2

Meet Robonaut2 (R2). Made by General Motors and NASA, it is the next generation  macho space robot which will do heavy duty work inside the space station for the floating astronomers. However, it is claimed that if things go right R2 will help GM build cars in the factory. Also he will be available for other companies. Apparently, the robot’s body is still going through development. So unfortunately, at the moment, it is legless and learning how to work with tools exactly like humans.

Toyota Partner Robots

Next, is Toyota partner robots. Actually, the company has built three different robots with almost the same technology to make humans’ work easier. In other words, just like Asimo they will be workers. At the moment, they are good at playing instrumentals, walking, running and keeping house dirt free. There are two humanoid versions of the Toyota robot available. While one is called the walking version because of its legs, the other one is named as rolling because it uses wheels to move around.

This is a really cool article. Finally, sci-fi robots of the past are being created in the 21 century, walking and talking like humans and soon AI to match. Thanks for sharing!
