Green Collar Jobs
What is a green collar job? Would you know if your job is ne or not?
So what is a green collar job? Well basically a green collar job is a blue collar job that has been up-graded to better respect the environment. Could be a construction job, steel worker job or even an engineer.
Many green collar jobs will be local and close to our homes. They will add opportunities for employees to provide more services to the public and best of all more work for the employees. That is good news for everyone, whether you are a green energy fan or not.
Workers looking to work in this new planet friendly environment may have to learn a few new skills, that can often just be added to their existing skills. For instance a steel worker may be hired to build framework for new windmill farms. Or he might be commissioned to build aluminum frames for the ever growing solar panel business.
Many green collar jobs may require a little more education than a high school diploma but a four year degree probably won’t be necessary. These jobs should be middle level skill type jobs and should pay pretty well. These eco-friendly jobs not only should help strengthen our communities but benefit our planet as well.
As more employers transform their jobs from blue collar to green collar jobs things around us will slowly begin to change. The air in our cities will be cleaner and we will begin to breath easier. Many homes will incorporate solar power to help lower their energy cost. And some will begin to drive electric cars and no longer be dependant on gasoline. This will save many hard earned dollars that would have been spent on the dirty fossil fuels and also help clean the air.
With lower cost of energy there will be a boost in our economy as people begin to see a little light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully America will be able to exhale and relax for a minute and absorb all these changes and take them in stride.
Yes green energy is coming and green collar jobs are coming with it. The future is indeed bright…solar bright.

We would be much better off if more companies had this perspective.
