Potatoes – Brunette Highlights Using Potatoes

Very inexpensive way to get highlights with something you have in your kitchen right now, POTATOES!

You can give your hair brunette highlights with this routine:

Cook an unpeeled potato in boiling water until the water has colored.  Turn off the heat, leave the potato in the pot, and let the water cool until it is tepid.  Dip a pastry brush into the water, and use it to saturate your hair (being careful not to get any water in your eyes or on your skin). Leave the potato water on your hair for 30 minutes, and rinse thoroughly with cool water.  Repeat every few weeks to retain the highlights.

DARK BAGS AND DARK CIRCLES UNDER YOUR EYES

To reduce bags and dark circles under your eyes, grate a raw potatoe, and wrap the shavings in two pieces of cheesecloth or two pantyhose pouches.  Lie down, and put one sack over each eye, and relax for 15 minutes.  Repeat daily, until the circles fade.  (If you don’t mind the messiness, you can dispense with the cloth and apply the potatoes directly to your skin as a poultice.)

Berry stains

If you have been out berry picking and ended up with berry stains on your hands, you can get the stains off by rubbing the skin with a slice of raw potato and rinsing with clean water.
