Eat White Rice Every Day Increase The Risk of Diabetes
This study is not the first time reveals about the dangers of white rice which can increase the risk of diabetes. Last year, research on rice is also said to be capable of causing cancer due to arsenic contained in white rice.
Recent research shows that consumption of white rice every day can increase the risk of diabetes. Research conducted by experts at the Harvard School of Public Health involves at least 352 000 people from China, Japan, the United States, Australia who every day eat white rice.
People who regularly eat rice every day will increase by one-half times the risk of contracting diabetes. The greater the risk increases by 10% when consumption is spent on rice or a plate full of 5.5 ounces per serving.
“This rule applies to citizens in the countries of Asia and the West, even though white rice is shown to increase the risk of diabetes, but Asians have a higher risk,” wrote one of the researchers in the journal British Medical Journal, as quoted by CBS News (17/03).
In China, people are on average consume white rice four times a day, while in Western countries the consumption of white rice is not more than five times a week.
If it has been used to eating white rice, usually hungry when someone would quickly replace the rice with a porridge or other foods. Therefore, you should begin to brown rice instead of white rice ogled. Besides brown rice contains more nutrients that are good for the body.
People are also advised to reduce consumption of white rice, not really leave it if it is not used. Although family history is the main reason a person has diabetes, but external factors such as food should also be considered.
