Right now, electricity is most important source of energy.

Nuclear energy or atomic energy produced by splitting of an atom. It is very powerful source of energy, today; many countries use nuclear energy to produce electricity.

It is the energy which is present in the flow of air around the earth. This energy which is produced from the moving air is used to run windmills. A windmill is an engine which is powered by wind produce energy.

The energy produced by windmills can be used in many ways:

It is used for grinding grains and spices.

It used for pumping water.

Modern wind power machines used for generating electricity are called wind turbines.

Netherlands is famous for its windmills.

It is the technology of obtaining usable energy from the light of the sun. It has been used in many technologies and comes in use where other power supplies are absent, such as in remote locations and in space.

Its uses: it is being used-

In solar cookers for cooking and solar heaters for warming water.

For electricity generation.

Desalination of seawater.

Cow dung has been used as a fuel in village since long. To day, cow dung is used to produce biogas in the villages. Biogas has proved to be an excellent fuel which can be used for cooking, lighting bulbs, etc. it is eco-friendly too.

Hydroelectric power is derived from water stored in dams. Here, electricity is produced by using the force of falling water from certain height to turn the blades of turbines connected to generators. It is a renewable source of energy.
