Bionics
Physicist and engineers that are interested in bionics have since been studied the functions of nervous systems of different organisms.
The study of the properties of the biological systems that can be applied in the solution of engineering problems is called Bionics. The study of bionics ranges from propulsion to energy conversion.
It is linked and closely related to the field of cybernetics, the comparative analysis of the nature and characteristics of living organisms and machine’s communication, control and or information system. The study of bionics may come in physiological, biochemical, biophysical,or biochemical approaches.
The application of mathematics, physics and electronic engineering is much used in this field. Physicist and engineers that are interested in bionics have since been studied the functions of nervous systems of different organisms. One of them is Nicholas Rashevsky. Nicholas Rashevsky is responsible in developing mathematical analysis of various functions and characteristics of the central nervous system.
There are many developments in the field of technology that are nearly base on the study of the nature of living organisms.
The encoding process of the visual system is similar to the improvements in the design of television, cameras, and optical recognition system. Radio transmitter and receiver has also similarities or may have influence by the auditory systems of living organisms. The design of aircraft was also influenced by the studies of how birds take their flights.
The bionics technology also performs artificial organ transplantation in which artificial organ was installed to perform specific task just, what organs of living organisms do. An example is the installation of an artificial limbs that are controlled by the detection of electrical field pattern in muscle tissue.
