The Uses of Nuclear and the Effects of Radioactive Radiations on Living Things
The use of nuclear energy to generate electrical energy is a controversial issue in many countries but over half of the electricity in France is generated by nuclear power stations..People are against the production of nuclear energy because past nuclear – related tragedies still haunt them. The effects caused by nuclear disasters such as Chernobyl and Three Mile Island are still fresh in the minds of most people.

Nuclear energy is used to: a) Generate electrical energy. b) Propel submarines and big vessels. c) Operates satellites. Vessels and submarines run by nuclear energy can operate for one or two years without having to refuel. Satellites launched into outer space need energy to operate. Besides solar energy, nuclear energy acts as the major source of energy that enables satellites to operate for years.
Nuclear energy produced in a nuclear reactor is used to generate electrical energy. The radioactive substance used in nuclear reactors is uranium -235. A large amount of nuclear energy is produced through the chain reaction of uranium -235 as a result of nuclear fission.
Heat from the nuclear energy heats up the water and changes it to steam at high temperature and pressure. The steam rotates the turbine, which in turn will rotate the dynamo in the generator. This rotation of dynamo will produce electricity. The electricity produced is then transmitted to various consumers.

Great article and pictures. Your information was well researched and informative. Even though nuclear energy is very useful and cheaper than the use of fossil fuels, it is like a child playing with fire. Sooner or later they are going to get burned. Well done friend.

Great research! I think that the growing urgency to debate environmental issues will lead people to have more trust in nuclear energy. Yes, it poses some dangers but I think the benefits are way more!

Good article. Nuclear energy has its dangers, but it does not release pollution into the air, and it is much cheaper than fossil fuels. You did a good job of examining the pros and cons.
