Lucid Science Fiction to Live Science Feats

What used to be science fiction long ago is now a reality. We have taken for granted many things in life without even realizing that they were just imaginations of someone whose ideas were made fun of.

1. Rush and Reach:

Saving time while reaching the destination has been a goal since primitive times! This urge has pushed man to domesticate many animals that can travel faster than going on foot; such as horses, asses, bullocks, yaks, camels etc. Apart from saving time, it also saves lots of energy in the process. This has now evolved into cars, automobiles of many types, trains, airplanes, rockets, etc. While the purpose is to save time, many other conveniences are also included to make the trip less tiring.

2. Adding Wings:

Flying has always been a fantasy. There has been instances where man has stuck huge feathers and jumped off cliffs to fly to eternity! The balloon is one of the greatest inventions, which has been used in multitude of ways to lift to air and stay there. Faster and larger flights are preferred to transport as many as possible in the least possible time. The backpack that lifts people to the air is also a reality, though it is in nascent stage of discovery. A rough doodle from the pages of Leonardo Da Vinci is now hovering around happily in the name of helicopters or choppers.

3. Telepathy:

For instance, people wanted to speak to each other using telepathy and they now have mobiles with hands-free and Bluetooth earplugs that it would fit in their ears! A decade ago, I watched a gentleman going around talking to himself so emotionally. Only then I realized that he was talking through the Bluetooth instrument (stuck in his ear like a huge earring!) to someone on the other side. So nice ear-gear! There are many newlyweds who call their wives on each traffic signal updating her where her man is! This is such a funny time-pass for those who share the road with such jokers. This is useful for the newcomers in the city, as they would provide information about the area and also the possible routes forward.

4. X-Ray Vision:

Remember superman and his X-ray vision to view what crimes happen beyond the walls? Now it is a reality! Just turn on the news channels or get on the internet. There are lots of information on scams and crimes available to be read and viewed as compared to the good-old radio days where three-fourth of the time was spent in shaking the radio to get the right channel! With nice news scoops around, superman can just sit back in the couch and view where the problem is. Beware! Lex Luthers!! Fun apart, live dynamic X-Rays are available. Very high definition microscopes and telescopes takes our vision to extreme dimensions.

5. Zombies:

It is shown that the mundane or dangerous tasks were assigned to the zombies or those who have raised from the dead. With no offences intended towards the soul-less brainy creatures, this is now a reality that robots are used to handle dangerous and mundane repetitive tasks. They are as good as zombies because they do what they are programmed to do without any feelings, emotions or requesting for more pay!
These are just a few things that were scientific fiction, but now are real-life things that we take very well for granted. Check out the daily life and you will surely come across many such things.

Great observations, so many times I have seen people apparently talking to themselves when in fact they are using a blue tooth or hands free set.

Dear Anj: I have left out quite a few past-sci-fi-current-realities for the readers to explore. Glad that I made you think what I missed :)

I still find it amusing when someone is apparantly talking to nothing (when in reality he has a bluetooth headset on). I want to walk over and tell him that talking to oneself is the first sign of madness.

I was thinking about being able to disappear and then appear in a remote place in just split seconds. I wonder how that would translate to reality. That way, nobody would be late for appointments :-) Am just having a lucid dream LOL!

I remember when the bluetooth headsets first came out. Watching people walk around seemingly talking to themselves was funny.
