There will never be no solar energy because, as long as we have the sun we can get our energy from it.  Electricity and oil, however, need to be created.

Solar energy is very clean, it does not pollute like oil does, and it takes away the chance of there being an oil spill killing small creatures.

Very low maintenance.  They also can store energy so that if there is a rainy day, you are prepared for it.
Solar panels could be very expensive, in the long run, however, you can save a lot of money by using solar power, not to mention the amount of pollution.
