Amazing Space Shuttle

This is a space shuttle designed by me with very little outside help.

Because of the enormous scale of this ship, it would need to be built in outer space well orbiting earth. Once it was complete then all the nations of earth could cooperate and put a reasonable amount of people from each nation so that there would be less gene contamination. Although there would need to be certain restrictions on the number of people on the craft and the type of people on the craft because there would need to be people with a plethora of different job experiences and knowledge.

Of course there would have to be pilots and mechanics and such but also there would need to be less obvious positions such as a few teachers and engineers and doctors for when they did land on the new colony’s place. Also there would be a librarian who would make sure that all the texts from earth were not damaged in any way during the trip so that they would have the instructions to build a new society.

The most important technology for this ship is the cryogenic freezing of people which has not been well enough developed yet to use on humans. So I put together a team of scientists that will research this process and try and figure out a way to use it, but in the mean time the shuttle will be built without that technology and if possible it will be added at the end of the construction. If not there is a plan B in which the ship would leave with the scientists on board so that they might find the solution while in space. Other wise the people will not be frozen but instead will just have to be sexually active in order to keep enough people in the crew at all times.

Do not worry about a genetic catastrophe as the crew have all been checked at the DNA level for sterility and it has not shown up in any of the members. Also we did not allow anyone with a disease on the crew roster to get on this colonization effort. We only allowed people with the most viable DNA results to be a part of this exploration effort.

The ship will be built with the materials that NASA uses to build their space vehicles if not even better materials, so there is no need to worry about bad parts. The space ship is also going to implement ways to stay energy independent as there are no gas stations in the middle of space. So instead of running on gas the ship will have many solar panels extended during flight and they will collect the suns rays which are turned into power for the ship. Also there is a hydroelectric power plant aboard located near the river in the greenhouse. However the vessel was built for almost any conceivable problem and if there is not enough sun then it can run on some of its immense caches of spare gas to use once on the new planet.

Regarding the amount of oxygen that this size of a facility would need to use, the air is not recycled the same way as most of the normal ships that NASA uses. The ship will actually have an immense greenhouse aboard it and it will be filled with thousands of trees and other shrubs that would convert the carbon dioxide produced by the inhabitants on the ship into oxygen that would be reusable by the crew and other members of this project. This will not only be a greenhouse but also a garden where the crew will be able to get food and there will be a river down the center where the hydroelectric dam is located. All in all it is more of a modern park in space rather then a greenhouse.

While aboard the ship there will be lots of food that will be needed to feed all the people aboard the vessel. So in addition to the on board greenhouse, there is a warehouse area in the back of the ship that is stocked in case there is an emergency and the food in the greenhouse doesn’t grow correctly for some reason.

The scientists that are working with the designing of this ship have come up with a way that would create an anti-gravity system so that life can be about the same on the ship as it would be on earth. This anti-gravity system is very high tech and is specifically designed for this shuttle so the flaws will be very small and few.

As for the habitation method once this crew does find a possible landing zone, there is a large supply bay that holds a number of test vehicles and items. So if they find a planet that they think may be habitable then they can use one of these research vehicles to go down and see how habitable the place may actually be. Once determined that the place would make a good place for a new settlement the ship is designed so that they have two different options as to how to get to the surface of the soon to be colony. They can either use the few shuttles that are on the ship and they can go a couple groups at a time down to the surface or they can use the whole ship as a shuttle. It’s outer plating is built to withstand the heat and friction of the entry into the atmosphere as well as the shock of landing on the surface of the planet without any major damage occurring to the ship. Although the armor may need to be repaired after the landing which is very easy with the interweaving complexity of the elements that comprise the hull.

You may be worried about communication with earth, as you should be because it will be very difficult, although there has been a great idea for communication back to earth. The ship will have a huge cargo bay and there will be many experienced engineers on board so they will be required to create a few satellites before the actual departure of the ship and then when the ship does actually leave port at the I.S.S. they will send a satellite out into space every time that they can so that the ship will always maintain contact with earth. Even if one satellite goes off line they are still overlapping in coverage so that contact would still be possible. Also this creates a way for the trip to help pay for itself as many governments around the world will pay for the use of these satellite that are further out into space then any modern day satellite and will provide contact with the earth as the colonies begin to spring up around the galaxy.

You may ponder how, when they find a suitable place to settle that they will be able to set up a colony in a place so different from earth. But that is not a large issue because aboard the vessel are many different tools that are used to  terraform a planet to given parameters and they will be used to set the planet to imitate earth as accurately as possible. There would be some intense gases poured into the atmosphere that would stay in orbit around the planet and would hold oxygen and carbon dioxide inside the planets atmosphere so that the people would be able to breathe fine.

Although it will be quite similar to earth, it will also be very different. Earth has a gravity of one and because the chances of finding a planet with a gravity very close to that are rather low, there will be accommodation’s to change that. Because there are no large scale anti-gravity technologies at this point, the outside will always be weighed differently. However to compensate for the lack of normal mobility there will be tubular covered roads that will be anti-gravitating, and all buildings will be required to be anti-gravitating.

There are however a few problems with this whole plan and I am not afraid to share them with the public. Some of the problems are that this project may ensure the next generation of earth but at a immensely crazy price, more money then has ever been spent on a single object. You may find this to be a stupid plan but overall it will ensure that humans have a better chance to survive any problem that may occur. Also the profits far outweigh the expenses as this would be like a new start to mankind and they would have more experience about what would be bad for the environment and such.
