There are so many endangered animals in just this country alone. I decided to do a search on my state and this is what I found.

I have never seen any of these species in pet stores, offered in aviculture circles, or even that many in the collections of zoos I have visited. Are these birds disappearing? Will they soon be lost?

While states like California, Florida, and Hawaii get most of the attention when it comes to Endangered species (and rightly so) it is important to remember that these are not the only areas in the nation facing ecological problems with declining wildlife populations. Even boring old Iowa is finding that some of its native inhabitants are having a hard time just surviving.
