Prime Minister of Japan, Naoto Kan said the decision was taken due to poor safety conditions in case of earthquake.The Hamaoka plant is located 200 kilometers south of the capital Tokyo, Shizuoka Prefecture, an area where earthquakes rhythm is as high as in north-east, severely affected by the earthquake of 11 March.
