What is The Nature of Time, Truth and Myths
What is the real meaning of time. Myths about time and different theories about it.
What is the true nature of time. That question bothered the minds of our ancestors from time immemorial. The first theory of time was proposed by the great English scientist Isaac Newton in the 17 Th century. He stated that time flowed like a river with a constant speed everywhere in our planet and in our universe. That theory about time existed in the world of physics until the beginning of 20 Th century, when the famous German physic Albert Einstein proposed a brand new theory which turned our understandings about the world upside down.
According to the new theory time was not constant but a relativistic category. It flowed with a different speeds in different situations. For example if a person was moving with a certain speed the time flowed to his or her point of view slower compared to a person which was stationary and watching. The greater the speed of movement of the person the greater was the so called slowing of the time for the moving person. That was a revolutionary idea for the time and was difficult to accept by the general public. Nevertheless that slowing of time was proved in the 70S with the help of two atomic clocks. One positioned on a moving jet aeroplane and the other on the ground.
Another myth which was busted was that the time was like a river and flowed only in one direction. Time is a series of moments which exist simultaneously in the present past and future. In fact according to the physics laws there was no hindrance for the things to happen in the opposite direction. But why does not this happen in reality. That is because the so called principle of the negative entropy. It states that all events follow the path to negative entropy or to chaos. That is why when you tear up a book which sheets are in perfect order the final result is a pile of sheets and not the same book. That is because there are too many outcomes which represent chaos and only one which represents the order.
The last interesting aspect is the time- space aspect of the universe. Universe has not only three but also four dimensions and the fourth is time. All those moments-past, present and future exist in the whole universe. That is because time was born with the universe itself 13,5 billion years ago. Then the most interesting of all the questions arises. Is it possible to travel back and forth in time. The modern physics say yes. If you want to travel in the past, you must find the so called wormhole and get into it. But why don’t we see many travellers from the future in our time? That fact is very indicative that people have not found yet way to travel to the past. As for the travel to the future, it is quite more possible. For that purpose, one should travel to a black hole and stay near it .After a few hours for him he would travel 50 years in the earths future.
