Time Travel a Myth or Can We Do It?

Time Travel its talked about, written about, filmed about, now hear my theory!

My article isn’t a re-hash of sci-fi fantasy, so please indulge me? The human race has always been fascinated by the thought of Time Travel we can look at some of the famous writings.  “The Time Machine” by H.G.Wells a global best seller that has been copied, and used as a role model in writing.

However he is not the creator of the thought of Time Travel as many people think, in Hindu Mythology there are several references to time travel.  In the 19th century “Washington Irving’s” and “Charles Dickens” wrote with ease on Time travel “Rip van Winkle” and the “Christmas Carol” they use Time Travel as if it is an every day occurrence.

Coming up to date the writings and screen plays of “Star Trek” and the “Quantum leap” are good examples of our obsession with Time Travel.  Can it be done? Some scientists say never, it goes against the laws of Relativity.  Some scientists say it already has been done!   I’ll come back to that one.  Our society exists on time, think about it, “I’ll be back in 5 minutes stay where you are” ever heard that one? Or “You start at 9.00am your late what’s the excuse this time” even in the chastisement of a colleague time appears?

I hope your thinking now, we like Automobiles very much in today’s society, ever been asked what’s the 0 to 60 time on your car?   How many revs per minute can it do?  I could sit here all day thinking of examples of time but I wont waste your time! See we cant even construct sentences without using a “Time” reference.  I guess it easier to speak about time as a fixed point in the space time continuum.

We plan our lives around time,  I’m now considered middle-aged a halfway point in my life (If I’m lucky) we are completely obsessed with time.  I envy lost tribes who never know the time!  They don’t know how old they are.  They know the seasons, they know day from night, they know their desires.  Do a little experiment for me, for the next few minutes don’t think of time, just see if it can be done?  I know I cant but there is a high possibility your more clever than me. Don’t think I’ll put the kettle on it will take 3 minutes to boil, then I’ll put the tea-bag in for 2 minutes and my cup of tea will be made, just do it!

Interesting insight into quantum and theoretical physics and the universe. Indeed the scientific community is divided, though in my honest opinion I believe anything may be possible. We are making break throughs everyday as our understanding of the universe broadens.
Be interesting what many paradoxes can be opened. Just watch like you say, Star Trek, Quantum Leap and the Terminator films for that…

A very interesting article, and a very interesting theory – unfortunately I am not a Quantum Physicist, so I am not able to prove of disprove your theory!

We just need the Flux Capacitor and we’ll be all set!

I’m a skeptic by nature. I’ll believe time travel is possible when someone has proof that they’ve done it.

This may be useful: time is a relative measure.
Suppose, time is represented by 1,000000000000000cm length (for example),today, at the date 2009.At Christ’s date,2009 years ago,the length of the year was 0,999999999809923 cm (!)Adam’s year length was 0,1075268811966131 cm (!).So,the Old Testament says: Adam lived 930 years. These are not 930 cycles of our date, but 930 cycles of 4 344 656 600 years ago.One cycle is one revolution of the earth around the sun.The time lenth of the days is constant, the time length of the years is variable according the dates.Useful for your theory?!:

This theory is not based on fact. FACT: atoms speed up when they are hot, and slow down when they are cold. This happens all the time and we do not time travel forward when it gets hot. Atoms are like small billiard balls, and no billiard ball will travel through time unless the theory of relativity kicks in near the speed of light. The same thing goes for atoms. Even though they travel at thousands of miles per hour, they do not travel anywhere near the speed of light (in most cases).

A special thank you to “JW” for proving my second theory in this article. That some one would be eager to shoot down my theory in flames. However I do suggest you brush up on your reading skills. The article says “This is my theory and no-one elses” I further said “I’m a car mechanic and not a scientist” the final clue for you was the picture of the star ship “Enterprise” and H.G.Wells time machine, I hope to write entertaining articlues not scientific journals, so please chill out and calm down!

That JW guy didn\’t sound angered at all, I believe you might just be getting extremely defensive over your theory, all he did was explain why it might be implausable.

So please chill out and calm down!

Dear sir, Your theory is extremely compelling just not over the mountain of convincing.
