Stephen Hawking – 70th Birthday Party

Just a small bit on the 70th birthday of Stephen Hawking.

The famous living scientist Stephen Hawking who at the age of 21 was diagnosed with motor neurone disease and given just two years to live, and not to expect much from life celabrated his 70th birthday yesterday. Even though he could not be there in body he was in spirit, as he made an emotional lecture on his life.

Among his guests were

Justin Rattner the Intel vice-president was proudly watching as intel have had a large influence in the development of Hawkings speech devices and are currently working on more advanced technology. Lily Cole, a model and an actress who was last year awarded a double first from The University of Cambridge, Lord Martin Rees was also present, he is the president of the Royal Society and acting astronomer for the Queen. A nobel prize winner Professor Saul Perlmutter, who is an American astrophysicist who last year won the Nobel Prize in physics for the co-discovery of dark energy, and the super rich billionaire and CEO of Virgin Group Sir Richard Branson.
