On Atomic Physics

This article is a discussion of Atomic physics including a video.

Atomic physics is the study atoms as a system of electrons and an atomic nucleus. The main study in atomic physics is the manner in which electrons are arranged around the atoms nucleus and ways that those electron arrangements change. This includes the energy states of an atom and its interactions with outside electromagnetic fields and. particles.

This field of physics has produced many strange and interesting results, including providing a major contribution to quantum mechanics. One of the biggest surprises comes from field-emission electron microscopy, which as produce image of actual electron orbitals.

The quantum atomic model is the most successful model of the atom ever devised and it is currently accepted because it explains all know atomic phenomenon. As a result atomic physics it one of the major success stories of Quantum Mechanics.
