Length, Volume, Mass, Temperature, and Time What are They?

A description of Length, Volume, Mass, Temperature, and Time.

The metric system is used worldwide and is kind-of easy to convert. You do need some practice with the metric system to really take advantage of it.

Many ask what length is.  Well length can be known as a long dimension of any object.  You just have to remember that Length is a measure of one dimension, whereas area is a measure of two dimensions (length squared) and volume is a measure of three dimensions (length cubed). So if you know that length is known as a long dimension of any object then you’re all set.

Volume can be any solid, liquid, plasma, or vacuum.  Or it can be a three-dimensional space it occupies, often quantified…  You can find more on volume if you Google it.

The weight of an object is the force of gravity on the object and may be defined as the mass. Mass is in are day to day life it surrounds us. It is everything Even the computer we use can be known as mass.

In physics, temperature is a physical property of a system that underlies the common notions of hot and cold. How is temperature measured? Temperature is measured with thermometers that may be calibrated to a variety of temperature scales. So really temperature is all around us.

What’s time? Time is a component of the measuring system used to sequence events, to compare durations of intervals between them.  Time never stops it is always running and we all know this because when you go to bed at night and wake up in the morning it is another day time moves whether or not we are awake.

All of these subjects have been a major subject of religion, philosophy, and science.
