Higgs Boson

I am a simple minded  blogger  who is inquisitive and want to know more about the Higgs bosom or in common term, the elusive God particle.I am not a scientist or a researcher to understand the intricacies of this elusive particle but it has always bothered me as to why we should run after this elusive particle,as if our life depends on it.They are the building blocks of the universe and are we sure that finding the ultimate truth about it will make  our world more peaceful and tolerant for our existence or like the  nuclear bomb will it destroy our existence.Once the elusive particle is found who is going to be the the authority of this secret.Is it going to be guarded by CERN so that it will not be abused by rogue elements.Who will have the full control of this secret.Will it be the  concerned scientist group or will it be a particular government.Once the elusive particle that binds the universe is officially found, then what will be the next step.Will there be further experiments that will based on this great finding. What will be the furher outcome  of these experiments?  Will it turn out to be benefical to the  futre of human  beings or will it  become a threat and insecurity to human existence.These questions should be taken to consideration and adequate  measures   ensured  for the proper handling of Higgs boson evidence.As an ordinary mortal I would like answers for the following questions.Right now it is claimed by the researchers thaty the finding will have no impact of adverse nature to human lives but it will only help the scientific community to explain the unknowm phenomenas such as animatter and dark matters.They may also explain in detail, information regarding the formation of subatomic particles and how they acquire mass.All these details are mind boggling and even though I would never utter words of doom against this great particle as an ordinary lay person,I am having my misgivings.Till now this is a great discovery that will explain a lot of mysteries of the universe,which will be benefical to researchers and scientist.I have no doubt about this great finding  of the researchers at the European Organization for Nuclear Research,but please explain one humble question of mine,will it threaten the humanbeings and their existence like the nuclear inventions and findings.Please let me get answer to pacify my unscientific worries.
