“Food” Black Hole: Asteroid
Our solar system, Milky Way, have supermassive black holes (black holes) giant called Sagittarius A *. Scientists suspect that this black hole “devouring” asteroids are moving closer to her.
Based on observations using NASA’s X-rays, Sagittarius A * emit flames while devouring this asteroid. These rays create black holes is 100 times brighter than normal time.
The hole is surrounded by a cloud of trillions of asteroids and comets, the scientists said. Celestial objects within 100 million miles will be sucked into the hole and caught fire.
“The study says that black holes require this asteroid to produce bursts of fire,” said Kastytis Zubovas from the University of Leicester, as quoted from Dailymail.
Zubovas colleagues, Sergei Nayakshin, add asteroid’s orbit could change if too close to the black hole. And if, thrown into a black hole, the fate of this asteroid was certain.
These flares were also detected using an infrared telescope owned by the European Southern Observatory in Chile. Scientists suspect this lick is made of space rocks with a diameter of over 12 miles.
These holes may also ‘eat’ the rocks are smaller but jilatannya difficult to detect.
If there is a giant asteroid that passed too close to black holes, scientists say, will rub against the gas in the Sagittarius A *. Similar reaction when a meteor to hit the atmosphere when going into the earth. These flares are produced asteroid that eventually engulfed the black hole.
