Electromagnet

Electromagnet is a type of magnet in which the magnetic Field is produce by the flow of electric current. If the current is turn off the magnetic Field disappear. The direction of the magnetic field produced is determined by right hand rule.

The greater the current induced in the coil the, the stronger magnetic field produced. The higher the voltage the stronger Field produced.  Magnetic Field is measured in ampere per meter. Field strength decreases with distance from the source.

The advantage of using Electromagnet is that it can easily started and stop, it can vary its strength, which makes them suitable in many scientific uses.

Use of Electromagnets

The main use of electromagnet is moving things. They are used in many electrical devices such as loud speakers, magnetic locks,picking up cars in junk yards, dumping garbage in recycling plant and so many more.
