Technology: Utopia or Disaster?

Look at how technology affects our lives positively and negatively.

Lately the world has been speeding up. People barely have enough minutes in the day to do what is asked of them. Technology is doubling it’s capacity every two years and therefore our society needs to begin to cope with this rapid development. School systems are old and out-dated while we expect students to be up to date on current affairs and worldly happeninings. The largest growing career now is in computers. Some have a belief that one day the internet will be integrated into our psychies.

This integration would allow every human to have infinite knowledge. Each person would be connected with every other person in the world and know exactly what all those peoples know as well. It would be such an amazing feat. Humans are coming to a time where technology will out run the human race. AI or artifical intelligence, is a revolution in robotics and is the peak of human technology at this time.

Though this may scare some, I have belief in the human race and it’s good nature at heart. This technology could also be used for harmful purposes; such as the RFID chips the U.S. wants to have implanted in every American citizen within the next ten years. This chip would track every move we make, as well as work as our credit cards and identification “tags”. Some citizens have already been implanted with these. This is the negative side of our technology boost in the 21st century. Working towards a one world government would require these chips and therefore we need to try and stop more legislation from being passed under our noses.

I do not like the idea that this sort of technology would be allowed to happen. In the bigger picture what is life without freedom to screw it up or get it right and that is in whatever terms one defines for himself. But I do agree that we need more wolves in our society compared to sheep. People who bought into the idea that there is some norm and some idea of a perfect way of life. Laws change becasue society changes, therefore law is whatever the majority rules it to be. I am not the majority.
