Steps to Success

These are the steps to success in solving through the scientific method, and why….

Steps to Success

We use the scientific method to organize and perform experiments. First we need a problem, then we need a hypothesis, next we need to design an experiment, and fourth, we need to analyze data, and fifth, we need to draw conclusions, and finally, we need to communicate results.

The first thing to do is to state the problem or question. For this we need to ask a question that the answer will not be a simple “yes” or “no”. This is because it will make it more interesting. For instance we can not ask a question such as: “Would it work if…….” We have to ask something like: “What would happen if…….” If we do this, we can ask meaningful questions.

The second thing to do, is to form a testable hypothesis. A hypothesis is a scientific problem or question. When using the scientific method, you need a hypothesis or prediction of what’s going to happen. The hypothesis needs o be written in an “If” “then” format. If we follow these instructions, we can form perfect hypotheses.

The third thing to do is to design an experiment. Without the experiment, we would not be able to find the answer to our question. Many experiments contain a control and always test only one variable at a time, In an experiment there are some things you can not do because of variables. For example, you can not throw two bottles at the wall, and see which one makes the loudest sound, without caring which type of bottle you throw, because it does depends on which type of bottle. It also depends on how hard you throw. Again, if you follow this, we can make some of the best experiments.

The next thing to do is collect and analyze data. You can analyze data using charts, graphs, etc. You can also collect data with drawings, tables, and more. You need these things to represent the facts and data you made in your experiment. it will also be easier for people to see your facts, rather that just writing it down in a paragraph. Collecting data will be easier using the scientific method, and following these steps.

The fifth step is to draw conclusions. Your hypothesis will then be supported, or it will be proven wrong. However, either way, it will not ruin your work, or experiment. This is because, not all smart scientist’s hypotheses have been proven right. In this step, we are almost at the end of the scientific method.

The last step is to communicate results. This means presenting it in a visual display. It could also mean presenting it orally. You do not get the full credit unless you display the experiment. For example, even if you did the experiment, the people who display it first, get the credit. So when you finish, make sure to present the experiment, and you will be successful, and will get the credit.

The scientists that follow these steps are always successful, even if their experiment didn’t turn out right. You too will be successful, however you have to listen, and follow these directions first.

The main point was that people remember 7 seconds of looking at pictures, better than looking for 3 seconds.

it is always great to prove something
