Calibrating Pipettes by Yourself

Step 1 – Clean the Pipette and the Beaker

Step 2 – Put Water in the Erlenmeyer Flask

Using the weight balance, measure the mass of the beaker to the tenth of a milligram.
Step 4 – Calibration

Measure the mass of the beaker to determine the mass of the water that was transferred. Repeat this process three or four times and record your readings.
After you have acquired the readings, calculate the density of the water based on its temperature when you measured it. Using the classic density formula (density = mass/volume), determine the mean volume of the water from the pipette.
