Parallel Universes: Science-fiction or Plain Facts?

Parallel universes seem to be a science-fictional fact made up by some tricky authors, but actually it holds pure logic which is explained here.

Parallel universes seem to be a science-fictional fact made up by some tricky authors, but actually it holds pure logic which is explained here.

If we presume that our universe as we know it will never stop expanding and keeps on existing forever, let’s say for a billion billion billion billion billion etc. years (one googol). In this extreeeemely long amount of time, there is an infinite amount of stars that are born and eventually die. As we all know, stars have planets orbiting round them. An infinite amount of stars thus leads to an infinite amount of planets. Now if we say that one out of a billion planets is similar to the earth, this means there’s still an infinite amount of planets!!

Next, we might guess that one out of a billion of those planets has primitive lifeforms roaming them. Which means, indeed, there’s still an infinite amount of planets!!!

The weirdest thing is, that if we say that another billion of those planets has humans living on it, we can conclude that there is an infinite of planets with humans on them.

You can change the billion to a trillion or a zillion, it doesn’t matter, there is always an infinite amount of planets. Now this may sound quite staggering but wait! If we keep using this logic using billions of billions of billions, we can conclude that there is an infinite amount of exact copies of our planet Earth! This means there are infinite copies of me typing this text and there are infinite copies of you reading this text. But one second later, those exact copies will have done something different, which leads to infinite people like you, just slightly different.

And still, the theory can be expanded. Let’s say the chance of winning the lottery jackpot is one out of a zillion zillion zillion zillion, you are infinitely rich on an infinite amount of planets. You could also say that there are planets where pink cows drive around in cars that have nails instead of tires, you can come up with virtually anything and it will always be true!! Call that astounding!

Nice article but not all stars like our Sun are gyrated by planets; just rarely.

wauw sounds like magic in wonderuniverse :):):)

That’s all good in theory. Taking for granted the assumption that there is an infinite amount of resources for galaxy building in the universe (which no one has actually proven, obviously), the amount of stars that resemble our Sol by having planets caught in their orbit (which would be few and far between) may or may not have life (which seems to be pretty rare.) Life evolving as humans, setting aside the same languages and ideas that would have someone reading this article, is highly highly improbable. The chances, within that, that they would develop the same language patterns is nearly impossible. Then, one of these ‘other universe’ humans having the same thoughts? Now you’re delving into the realm of absurd fantasy.

If you’re trying to get someone to believe that another Grant is criticizing another article by another DwarfPope, while anothernother Grant is criticizing the same article by anothernother DwarfPope is questionable at best. Outside the realm of fanciful dreams and La-La-Land, this idea holds no ground.

It would help your writing if you wrote about things that might be somewhat close to being half-truths, instead of choosing to explain topics in which the main point is buried under assumptions and guesses, taking huge leaps into the realm of the unknown and guessing. If your article proves to be true, then I guess a thousand other mes are pointing out how shabby and poorly thrown together this article is.

    In essence, this=fail.

    Have a good day- Grant

    Hi Grant,

I understand you being quite sceptic about this theory. I’m not saying that this is correct, I just feel it’s a fun theory. This text is pure philosophic and if you don’t want to believe it, no problem!
Well, the world is also filled with hundreds of religions, while most people only believe in or follow one religion.

I feel like everything you said is plausible except the very last line, “in cars that have nails instead of tires.” As long as something is happening in this universe, it has to follow this universe’s laws of motion & physics and w.e else. Nail-tires wouldn’t work anywhere in this universe (but maybe in a different one where the laws are different). Just my opinion though….

Soug, what if the other planet happened to have different gravity? Or soil composition? What if a nail means something else in a different place?
