Until now, I have not put much thought into the big bang theory or the existence of a greater, omnipotent being. It was in my new testament class that it occurred to me. Our Priest brought up the argument of first motion. This argument states that there has to be some first push to get everything flowing. an analogy is this: Imagine a stack of dominoes. They may not move until some force acts upon them. This states the argument of first motion perfectly. As scientists can prove, the universe is constantly expanding from the big bang. My question is this:What started the big bang?

There are many theoretical answers to this puzzling question. My priest believes it was God that started everything. However, my answer makes some sense on a psychological scale. What created our laws of physics? They must have not existed before the big bang, considering it was the motion of the molecules that create most of our laws of physics. therefore, before the big bang, there could have been a completely different set of laws, which could have been anything from many big bangs occurring at once and ours just being one of the millions of them, to our big bang being timed exactly right to every aspect. For all we know, it could have been trial and error! Therefore, we can never prove what started the big bang, but we can come up with many theories, publish them, and make money!
