Taking into consideration that the earth turns round and we living on the earth turn round at the same speed due to the pull of gravity, these parameters explain why we encounter day and night. When our side of the earth faces the Sun, we experience broad light but when we move away we encounter darkness. 

Now think of how we could escape from darkness. The earth rotates on its axis at a speed of 1000 miles per hour from east to west. Take an aircraft the flies at exactly that same speed and at 12 noon fly in the opposite direction at 1000 miles per hour. What would happen? and What would be a consequence of living in total sunlight?
