A History of Atoms
An essay on the history usefulness of the building blocks of matter: Atoms.
What are atoms? Atoms are “particles” that are so small, people can’t see them. But they make up everything on Earth. People don’t think life exists on Mars, because there are no atoms there. Recently, a spacecraft tried to go to Mars to prove atoms existed, but it broke when it landed: probably because it didn’t have any atoms to land on.
I wouldn’t want to live in a world without atoms. Atoms kill things and give life to thinks. In prehistoric times, a huge meteorite came down to Earth and killed all the dinosaurs and cavemen. A meteorite is like a big rock, so it’s kind of like an atom. So atoms saved mankind from the dinosaurs, and I think that’s pretty cool. But people tried to bring back the dinosaurs using cloning technology, and that’s mad science run awry. Awry of the true goals of man. The dinosaurs couldn’t be contained inside the electric cages and they just totally tore stuff up. But I think the dinosaurs died at the end, I’m not sure how, because I had to return the video before twelve or else I got charged for an extra day. I will rent it again one day, though, to make sure humanity does not fall prey to the dinosaurs.
Atoms can’t be seen by regular people, only scientists. When I graduate, I want to be a scientist so I can see atoms. Even though you can’t see atoms, you have to have faith that they exist. Faith is a core part of the Christian faith. Even though we weren’t around when Jesus died, we have his cross as proof that he died for our sins. Sins are atoms that Jesus died for, and it’s so important that it is on the periodic table under “50”. Nobody knows what 50 means, but it could have something to do with the fact that there are 50 states in America.
Scientists think that one day, atoms can be used to cure diseases, and that’s good because no one likes diseases. But how will they do it? People can’t see atoms, but scientists will use tests to prove that they exist. What kind of tests? The world cannot know, for if the common man did figure out the secrets of the atom, then it could spell disaster for the entire planet. In conclusion, atoms are a substance of mystery.
