Statistics and Interpretation
How can one be sure of how to interpret statistics? What is the best method?
Statistics are only true by two standards: one is that of the creator, and the other is that of the onlooker. If the collector of the statistics is mathematically flawed, the statistics are inherently useless. Likewise, if the onlooker has no experience looking at or interpreting statistics, they are inherently useless.
The moral of the story is that you should always give weight to both the formulation and the interpretation of the statistics, both can be mistakenly created. This is applicable to many fields, including the stock market, basic probabilities, and even fantasy football.
