Science-geek Frame of Mind
What kind of a response do people get when they ask me, "What’s happening?",a science-geek perspective of course!
“Everything…Always!” is my reply as I think about the line grid and infinite variables along with what is happening in my life that I can even be aware of.
I always get a confused look afterwards. I see it all the time; people are on automatic and waiting for a humorous reply to the question of greeting. When people say, “Good morning” to me, I always reply with a statement…”Yes it is!” Or when people ask me the question “What’s happening?” and I begin to wonder where the closest whiteboard is to get the ball rolling on the visuals to assist in clarification when the befuddled expression blossoms on their faces.

So, if you know a little about math you know that on a two-dimensional line that goes off to infinity in both directions right? The line goes in the negative and positive direction forever like in the visual line below. There is no end to the line in either direction so essentially everything is going on along this one line if looked at from a realistic point of view (except of course there is an end to the paper that the line is drawn upon).
OK, now if you take two points on that same line and measure halfway between to make a new point and you do this every time you also know that you are going inwards towards infinity again! There is no way to reach a point if you are always taking half the trip there, no matter how small the space gets you will never make it to the next point. This packs a lot of action potential in the space between points on a line don’t you think?
This gives strength to the statement that everything is always happening at any given time because everything is always happening at any moment or point on the graph. So how much more complex is a three dimensional representation of a single moment in time in real life context?
What does this truly mean to your life and your world? If the two-dimensional representation holds an infinite amount of variables, what can your three-dimensional world hold for you in any given moment? It means that you cannot possibly conceptualize all the variables in the current timeframe so why even try to imagine that everything can be under control or perfect? No one can, it’s impossible for our finite minds to wrap around every single variable. Embrace the moment and learn to enjoy the beauty inherent with imperfection, otherwise you will be spending the majority of life judging and waiting instead of enjoying and truly living. This little moment of perfected scientific-geek perspective has become a powerful coping mechanism whenever it has been shared.
So now the time has come, what is happening for you right now? If you spent a brief moment in front of a computer or pen and paper, how much could you identify? No matter how intelligent you are, it can never be all of it, so just have fun with what you recognize.
