Geometry Help: Measuring Segments and Angles
Discover how to measure segments and angles; learn the ruler postulate, segment addition postulate, and more!
Ruler Postulate
The distance given between any two points is given by:

Segment Addition Postulate
For collinear points A, B, and C, with B between A and C, AB+BC=AC
Congruent Segments
-
congruent segments have equal measure
Definition: Midpoint
A midpoint of a segment divides the segment into two congruent pieces. A midpoint bisects the segment.

Definition: Angle
An angle is two rays with the same endpoint. MUST use three points to name if more than one angle on vertex.
Angle Addition Postulate
m<1 + m<2 = m

m<1 + m<2 = 180

Recall From Pre-Algebra:
- Vertical angles are congruent
- full circle=360
