Update about So Cal and its epic quake action…
Wow, if you live anywhere near Southern California, you should have a look at these…
First, a snap shot of the quakes:
A list of the quakes:
This is some serious action. Reminds me of the weeks after the last Baja quake. Something is brewing down there…No time like the present to remind your loved ones about earthquake preparedness and precautions.
(4/14/10) Since shortly before and since the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit the Baja area 10 days ago, the ground has been in near perpetual motion. Somewhere around the 7 day mark, USGS (United States Geological Survey)was showing over 3000 earthquakes for that region. And today, 10 days out from the 7.2 shaker, USGS is showing a rolling total of nearly 2100 earthquakes for the last 7 days in that region.
Lets break that down. 2100 earthquakes in that region in the last 7 days equals 1 earthquake per every 4.8 minutes. These are not large earthquakes, but they are not letting up. The earthquakes in the region have also shown a pattern of moving northwards at times in the last 10 days. As I watched the earthquakes roll into the USGS website, there were some northern California quakes registering within hours of the Baja 7.2 quake. USGS very quickly deleted these. Make your own decision about that, but please be aware that this is a very serious situation and this is an area to keep a very close eye on.
