Water More Precious Than Gold
Water Makes Up 70% OF The Earth.
No Living Thing Can Live Without It.
It is said that unless the population growth slows down worldwide.
by 2025 there will be a shortage of usable freshwater.
I started thinking about this when our church was collecting money,
for a water well in India, others have been built in The Sudan.
Many others are needed in developing countries.
Our bodies are made up of 60% water and because there is and will
continue to be shortages water will be worth more than gold.
Wars and political disputes have been fought over freshwater.
We will have no food or wildlife without it.
In North America we use more water in a 5 min. shower,
then some people have all day.
There are 884 million people without freshwater.
Over 3 million people die each year from water related diseases.
Pollution and excessive use of ground water diminishes our supplies.
Conservation and desalination are two ways that can help some.
Salt water (water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink),
can have the salt removed but is a expensive undertaking,
and not feasible in some countries.
Brazil, Russia and Canada more freshwater than some.
Parts of Africa, Venezuela, The Middle East, Mexico, China,
India and Pakistan have less usable water.
What can you and I do?
Try and protect our natural resources as much as possible,
Try and use less water, (don’t run the water while brushing your teeth)
Help other countries if we can and help stop pollution.
I know it seems like a losing battle but God wants us to take care of his earth.
But I do believe He knows how long we can last here and I believe somethings,
Can’t be changed until he comes again.

Too much! Too much! Too much of everything i.e. MATERIAL! We need to change SOS our attitude toward the Environment and consumerism! fantastic article! thanks
