The Biggest Deserts of the World

The biggest desert land surfaces on earth.

Meaning of desert is a region having a very less precipitation annually and about one third of the earth’s surface is composed of desert as its land area.

There are deserts that can be classified based on the polar and non Polar Regions. According to the polar regions on earth, Antarctica has the major area on earth as desert more than 13 million square kilometers while Sahara desert covers more than 8 million square kilometer on earth as desert area in classification of non polar deserts.

Apart from these two major desert areas other important and large desert landscapes are located in North Africa, China, Argentina, Canada as deserts of Arabia, Gobi desert, Arctic desert etc.
