The Megaladon

Many Millions of Years ago, our Oceans held the largest predator to ever roam the earth. The Megalodon, natures ultimate carnivore.

A species once thought to be extinct for millions of years is now believed to have inhabited the earth around the same time as man. In the early 1900’s. Scientist found two Megalodon teeth in the Pacific Ocean, measuring in at around 4 inches each. The teeth are thought to be aged 24,000 and 11,000 years respectivley.

Also in the early 1900’s, Australian Fishermen reportedly were confronted by a “ghostly” white shark whose measurements were as long as their wharf, a whopping 100+ feet. Large species have been prone to easily avoid scientist, take the Sperm Whale and Giant Squid for example, they were thought not to exist and even today we rarely get a glimpse of them.  Could a species that has once thought to have been extinct still be lurking in the very waters in which we swim? There is a good chance, humans know more about the surface of the moon than they know about the deep blue.

Interesting article. If you could find a picture of the Megaladon to post with your article, it would be even better. =)

I do believe that somewhere in the deep is a huge shark. My husband had some of their teeth which was recovered team mates in a mining and fossil hunting club we belong to.
