Dinosaurs; Who Knew?

Do you know the origin of the word dinasaur?

Dinosaur artifacts and remains have been found everywhere on Earth, even on the continetn of Antarctica.

The Term “dinosaur” was popularized in 1842 by English paleontologist, Richard Owen. “Dinosaur” means ‘terrible lizard’ in English. the Chinese word for dinosaur, “konglong”, means terrible dragon.

The smallest dinosaurs were about the size of a chicken while the largest were over 50 feet tall and 100 feet long.

Dinosaurs came in all shapes and colors, most were reptilian but not all of them. Most laid eggs in nests like snakes and turtles do.

Some dinosaurs could fly while others were only land creatures.

And… some dinosaurs were meat eaters, some were vegetation eaters and many were like humans(they ate meat and veggies) :)

Actually I think dinosaurs couldn’t fly… Microraptors etc. could glide, but not actually fly, and the ones most people think of, pterasaurs, weren’t dinosaurs.

God is an awesome God. Just think of what this world looked like billions of years ago when they roamed. I believe the world is God’s creation to last an eternity. I love Paleontology, :)
