Dinosaurs come in with several myths; most of these myths are mistaken, while still some are damn right outrageous. We will try taking a look at how true or untrue some of these myths are as they are presented to us by scientific facts, most of them proven.

Myth 1 Says that dinosaurs and humans co existed together. Ah what utter untruth this is, even though some religious groups still feel this to be true. They claim that the earth is not as old as most scientists will want us to believe and that dinosaurs actually lived alongside humans. But it is a proven and established fact that dinosaurs were the only creatures on earth at the time of there existence and they died off 65 million years ago before the first man walked the earth.

Myth 2.. Every creature that was in the prehistoric was a dinosaur.   That is another laughable myth, as it has been established that not all creatures of the prehistoric age were dinosaurs, many insects and some early mammals were also found in that age and time.  Notable amongst them are the Pterosaurs, or the flying reptiles, and the aquatic animals, such as the Plesiosaur. Also other large animals lived before the time; the dinosaurs came along.

Myth 3.The dinosaurs all came at the same time.  The dinosaurs came in batches and all batches lived there time in full, that is why they were in existence for close to 160 million years. As the movies roughly portray to us about Tyrannosaurus that lived during the Tyrannosaurus period fighting with a Stegosaurus that was in existence during the late Jurassic period.

Myth 4 Dinosaurs died out in one day. Laugh as you want, this is a false as they gave birth they grow old and die while the young ones mature. True there were mass extinctions but not on a large scale as widely speculated .There were different periods during the dinosaur era, and now it is a stated fact that some really survived the extinction and evolved into birds.

Myth 5.Another of the movie allusions that has come to stay, making us believe that dinosaurs are heartless Dinosaurs were all heartless. But there is enough fossil evidence to show the fact those dinosaurs really lived in social groups and even cared for the eggs till they hatch out.

Myths 6.Dinosaurs were big and huge. Not quite true some have been found to be as small as a domestic cat, or chicken.

Myth 7 Dinosaurs were brainless to note the change around them.. Again, they survived over 160 million years, and had undergone many changes in shapes and types, that meant they evolved, and many times over. Evolving is not a matter of choice but comes as a natural process

Myth 8. Mammals came after Dinosaurs. Of  course not all the mammals came into existence at the same time, some great mammals were around, while the dinosaurs died off the mammals survived. Even while the dinosaurs reigned some small mammals were going about the business of survival, mostly hunting at night when the dinosaurs are at rest.
