Wind Energy for Dummies
Wind energy is one of the three main sources of natural energy sources.
The other ones are solar energy and wave energy. Wind energy is produced by blades that are placed at a slant so that when the wind moves past them they turn the fan. Behind the fan is a generator which is made of a magnet and two wires placed on the negative and positive ends of the magnet. When the fan spins it turns the magnet which reverses the polarity that is forced upon the wires and rapidly repeats and creates energy. And all of that is placed on a tower in a windy area.
Wind power was used more than just for electricity. Back in the “ye old” day, it was used to do stuff from grind grain by moving various gears and then turned a grinding stone. Also it was used for turning a crank on a water pump to move water using wind power and it can be used to lift heavy objects.
