Subject: Basic Cloud Identification Part 2
This cloud is known as Nimbostratus and when this cloud is around you will tell the weather becomes really dreary and it rains for extended periods.
Next cloud is called Stratus, this cloud is also a rain maker and can also lead to very foggy mornings.
Next cloud is the stratocumulus cloud this cloud when its present tends to cover the whole sky just as seen in the image. These clouds can bring with them sometimes light rain or snow showers. Most of the time the stratocumulus clouds cover the entire sky.
This concludes the chapter on the low layered clouds, these clouds will be anywhere from the surface to about 6,500ft when they are on the surface it is called stratus or fog.
