Weather U Lesson 3: Cloud Identification(cont.)

This is a type of mid cloud that can fill the entire sky and usally approaches about 12-18hours before a Warm Front is moving into the area. Altostratus is a mid level cloud with heights above 7,000ft.

Next cloud is Alto Cumulus this cloud makes the sky look like their is a soft blanket covering it. Alto cumulus clouds are found also above 7,000ft and are a usally pretty close together in texture as the photo above shows. Alto Cumulus clouds are also found before a warm front approaches the area.

This lesson has shown the two types  of Clouds that are commonly found in the middle etage of the sky meaning that they can form anywhere between 6,500ft all the way up to 18,000ft. Both of these clouds do not produce any types of precipitation on the ground. They are just nice clouds to view in the sky.

Enjoy The Weather and hope to see you back for the next lesson.
