Weather

This lesson will guide you through how to read and report a weather observation.

Here are the basic steps to follow when getting ready to take a weather observation. By following these steps you will improve your accuracy on how well the weather report gets transmitted. Remember these weather observations are what go into making the weather models stronger to help with long range forecasting.

Now if we look at the above image it shows us what a weather observation looks like with all the coded data wrote down. So if you follow through on the  chart above you will understand what makes a weather observation so unique in nature. You will see that we have many items that get recorded on the weather observation.

Now if you take a look at the image above it shows you what all the block mean and how we obtain the data. It may look like nothing important however, this data is what makes our weather models work. So it is very important to record the data as accurate as possible. Take a few minutes and study the above information as it will be handy further down the road or even if you become a weather observer some day.

The next image gives you more details on the importance of the weather observation. Feel free to read it and take note.

Here is the final quiz over Lessons 6&7 so make sure to check back on the previous lesson as some answers will come from that lesson also. Enjoy and best of luck. There are also test available for this course to take the test you will need to visit our website: www.weathergeek.net and Click on Weather U.
